State Incentives for Renewables & Efficiency
A comprehensive source of information on state, local, utility and federal incentives and policies that promote renewable energy and energy efficiency.
For all KCP&L Customers
KCP&L offers instant rebates up to $850 through participating HVAC dealers for replacing an old A/C or heat pump with a high efficiency model.
For Kansas City MO residents (KCP&L and MGE customers)
Up to a $1200 rebate is being offered for a home energy audit plus recommended energy upgrades being completed on the home.
For MO residents
Tax deduction of $1000-2000 per household depending on household qualifications.
For Federal Tax Credit info
Up to $500 (10% of the improvements with cap) in total tax credits per residential filing in energy/ weatherization home improvements in 2011 (cannot claim if already used 09-10 federal tax credit).
For Federal Renewable Tax Credit info
30% of total costs of renewable energy installation (includes solar hot water, Photo Voltaics, see link for more information) installed in 2009 or 2010. No tax credit cap.
Federal Tax Credit for building energy efficient house
$2000 to builder for building 40% efficient house over IECC Code back on taxes.
